The Department of Social and Health Service (DSHS) have started a reimagining project to change how the department is structured. The new structure has two new administrations:

Home and Community Living Administration (HCLA). HCLA administers all home and community-based services formerly provided by Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) and the Aging and Long-Term Support Administration (ALTSA).

The Behavioral Health and Habilitation Administration (BHHA) manages the care for all people who reside in Residential Habilitation Centers (RHCs) and State Operated Living Alternatives (SOLAs), as well as all state-operated inpatient psych facilities.

The Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) is now The Developmental Disabilities Community Services (DDCS). DDCS manages all community-based services for children and adults with DDA-qualifying developmental disabilities. DDCS is under the HCLA Administration.
