Washington residents can now call 988 if they or a loved one need mental health support. 988 was created so people can call or text a hotline when they’re needing someone to talk during mental health crisis or are needing to talk to somebody about self-harm. When you call 988 you can talk to a person who is able to connect you to resources and help you line up future services The number is always open.

988 is free and confidential and can be accessed from anywhere in the country. 988 is a part of a nationwide increase in mental health services the number has interpreters for over 250 languages and People who are deaf, hard of hearing, and TTY users should use your preferred relay service or dial 711 then 1-800-273-8255.
