National Preparedness Month

September is the National Preparedness Month. It is important to be prepared for different types of disasters especially while COVID-19 is spreading. To be prepared, make a plan with your family, friends, and other people who support you. It is important to plan ahead because you never know when that plan will have to go into action.

It is good to have supplies ready in a kit such as food, water, medications, a first-aid kit, extra batteries, a flashlight, cash, and items that can help protect you from COVID-19, the flu or other viruses—such as cloth face coverings and hand sanitizer.  You can visit https://www.ready.gov/disability to learn about specific ideas for different things to keep in mind based on disability types.
