The DD Ombuds will be active during the Washington state legislative session informing the legislature about the work of the DD Ombuds and the issues that affect individuals with developmental disabilities. The DD Ombuds set priorities for the 2019 session, they include:

  1. Identify and close gaps in mental health services for people with developmental disabilities.
  2. Invest in quality community supports and services for children and adults with developmental disabilities to reduce use of crisis services.
  3. Secure rights of people who use DDA services.

To learn more about why these are problems for individuals with developmental disabilities and the DD Ombuds proposals, view the 2019 DD Ombuds Recommendations for Legislature here.
