The Office of Developmental Disabilities Ombuds (DD Ombuds) released its first report today on systemic issues which affect the lives of people with developmental disabilities and their communities. This report identifies significant gaps in developmental disability services. Specifically, it details situations where adults with developmental disabilities lose their housing because there are no, or not enough, support services available to keep them in their home when there is a health crisis.
DD Ombuds staff are available to speak with stakeholders about this report. We look forward to working together to bring about needed changes to the service system so that DDA services are accessible and effective for all DDA clients.
